EID-UL-ADHA DINNER - MARCH 29, 2000 

This 5th annual celebration was special.  The Right Hon. Jean Chretien, Prime Minister, attended.  He got a standing ovation as he walked in.  He charmed the audience by wishing them "Eid Mubarak".  He said that Muslims are as much a part of the Canadian family as anyone else. 

His Excellency, Dr. Mohammed R. Al-Husseini, Ambassador for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, presented a beautiful crystal model of the Holy Mosque of Mecca to the Association.  Professor Sulayman S. Nyang, Department of African Studies, Howard University, Washington, D.C., was the Keynote Speaker.
