6TH ANNUAL EID-UL-ADHA AT DINNER - MARCH 15, 2001

The Association started giving awards at Eid dinners as of his year. Hon. Madam Justice Louise Arbour of the Supreme Court of Canada, was  the award recipient and Keynote Speaker.  She was recognized for her “Courage and Dedication to the pursuit of Justice in the International arena, especially for her work in the establishment of a highly respected system for prosecution of war crimes”.  

Hon. Justice Louise Arbour got a standing ovation after she spoke.  She said that there is a lot of work that needs to be done to deter individuals from committing war crimes.  She was presented with a plaque.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ahmad Ibn Saifuddin Turkistani, Institute of Islamic and Arabic Studies in America (Fairfax,  Virginia).
